Suburban murals
in the west + far west suburbs of Chicago
It goes without saying that art has a significant impact on our mental health and mood. Don't argue with me. It's science.
Because of that, Stay + Play Local wanted to scope out several interesting and awe-inspiring murals in the west + far west suburbs of Chicago.
Visit these public pieces of art. Learn the story behind it. Soak them in. Enjoy them. If you also happen to take a dope #MuralSelfie, hey - that's an added bonus!
If you head out to visit any of these murals, be sure to tag @StayAndPlay.TriCities in your adventures so we can live vicariously through you!
Shout out to the St. Charles Arts Council, Naperville Century Walk, and STC Alliance for their assistance in this project! Photo credit for many of these goes out to them!

UNITY GATEWAY
AURORA | 210 E. Galena Blvd.
The mural design combines a quilt analogy to show that Aurora is a city of many people and cultures combined together. It also takes elements of art nouveau, Prairie style, and art deco architecture from downtown Aurora such as seen on The Mayan and Keystone buildings.
